Kelly Nye (Creme de peche)

Yesterday I went to an conventional opening show by a metal sculpture jewelry MFA candidate at CSULB Max L. Gatov gallery. It was a fashion show... it consisted of felt pieces and metal in unconventional places,( skirts, bra pieces, shoes). It was fun to watch however, the artist didn't post an artist statement, no one seem to notice it... there were wax cupcakes along the run way. I made a relationship between the "junk food" (cupcakes) and the choice of making it a fashion show... maybe a subtle criticism of the irony of cupcakes in a runway where being slim is a "requisite". The felt pieces were worn what seem to me like underwear for 1600 century, the choice for the name of the show was french and the program pamphlet was also in french, it also looked like a menu... well that's it.
